The District shall keep a complete permanent record for all students including at least a record of achievement and attendance. The permanent records of students are to be housed so that they are safe from fire and theft. Confidentiality. The Wyoming Public Records Act, W.S. 9-9-101 through 9-9-105 and the Buckley Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (P.L. 93-380) set forth requirements to protect the privacy of parents and students relative to school records with which the District shall comply. No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2002 has amended the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA). This amendment process changes some of the obligations of local school districts under the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). In some cases, new requirements have been made. In other cases, existing requirements have been increased. Statute: 20 U.S.C. 1232g.
