In elementary schools which employ corporal punishment a record shall be kept of incidents which are resolved by corporal punishment. Such records will show the name, sex, and ethnic group of the student and be accessible to the Central Administration for the purpose of monitoring such cases as well as furnishing documentation in any hearing pertaining to the disciplining of the child.
All forms of corporal punishment shall be banned in the middle school (grades 6-8) and high school of this District. No paddle or other means of inflicting such punishment shall be retained on school premises by any middle school or high school teacher or administrator. Circumvention of the policy will not be allowed for any reason. The penalty for violation may be any penalty found by the Board to be appropriate to the offense including discharge.
