School District 25 Policy

Compulsory education laws require that each school district provide public school equally free and accessible to all children over six and under twenty-one. Parents are required to send children from the ages of seven to sixteen to school, either public or private, and must send any child under sixteen to school if the child is mentally capable of completing eighth grade work and has not done so.
Students shall be exempted from the compulsory education laws when:
All students are expected to be in daily attendance in accordance with State law and Board policy except when properly excused by lawful authority. School officials responsible for enforcing compulsory attendance will comply with State law.
