School District 25 Policy
Adopted: April 9, 1985
The Board recognizes that employees of the District have the same fundamental civic responsibilities and privileges as other citizens. Among these are campaigning for an elective public office and holding an elective or appointive public office.
Any employee who intends to hold or campaign for an elective public office shall give timely notice to the Superintendent, in writing, of the office which he/ she intends to seek, and an indication as to whether he/ she wishes to continue employment with the School District.
In connection with campaigning, no employee shall use school system facilities, equipment, or supplies; nor shall the employee use any time during the working day for campaigning purposes.
The District will not allow any employee elected to any office to receive salary in lieu of remuneration received by serving the elected office.
