School District 25 Policy

Teachers shall perform extra-curricular assignments and other co-curricular duties whenever such duties are deemed by the Board or its designee to be necessary for the proper functioning of the schools. This policy shall be deemed to apply District-wide to any and all such duties.
Such assignment(s) are a part of the prescribed duties of a teacher and may include, but not be limited to, supervision of students, parent-teacher conferences, faculty meetings, co-curricular activities, open house, parent-teacher organization(s), child-study conferences, curricular planning, and accreditation committees.
Certain extra-duty assignments are identified on the extra-duty pay schedule. Teachers assigned such identified duties may be paid in addition to their basic salary by the Board. The stipend includes pay for services rendered before school starts, during vacation periods, and after school closes according to the assignment of the Board or its designee. A teacher's assignment to an extra-duty position shall be on a year-to-year basis at the sole discretion of the Board or its designee.
Regular, hourly employees of the District who accept coaching or sponsorship assignments will be considered volunteers with a nominal fee and will receive a standard stipend for their services in these areas. Hourly staff members assignment to an extra duty position shall be on a year-to-year basis at the sole discretion of the Board or its designee.
