Superintendent's Contract

The Superintendent shall be granted a twelve (12) month per year contract by the Board for a term of one or two years.

The Board shall evaluate and review the Superintendent's performance in accordance with his/ her contract provisions. Except in the case of immorality or incompetence which are grounds for immediate dismissal, the Board shall give not less than 180 days written notice to the Superintendent. In the year the Superintendent's term of contract is scheduled to expire, the Board shall vote on the renewal at its January meeting. However, in any other year the Board may vote to extend the Superintendent's contract beyond its scheduled expiration date at any other January meeting of the Board.

The salary of the Superintendent, additional benefits, vacation/holiday entitlement, and other leave provisions shall be determined by the Board annually through discussion with the Superintendent and included in his/ her written contract.
