Board Member Development Opportunities
Adopted: October 18, 1994
Attendance at meetings directly or indirectly related to education
or school matters is encouraged for the value such meetings have to the School
District and the development of Board Members.
Orientation is considered as an ongoing process for all Board
Members, and may include such activities as:
- Attendance at school board, administrative and educational
conferences and conventions on a local, regional, state, and national basis;
- Exchange of ideas through joint meetings with neighboring
- Reports on educational programs presented at Board meetings
by the Superintendent and staff;
- Regular review of professional journals and publications.
